Welcome to La Tierra, located in Mantra Hotel Albury. La Tierra is a Spanish word that means ‘the earth’ which is the foundation on which our restaurant is built.
At La Tierra, we offer a beautiful Mediterranean menu with strong Spanish influences. We pair this with outstanding customer service and a relaxed, contemporary setting to give you the ultimate dining experience.
Meet for coffee or a cocktail, share some tapas in our outdoor area or enjoy a beautiful meal, cooked to perfection in our charcoal oven.
The Riverina and North-East Victoria has a rich contemporary history of cultural influences from around the world.
The Bonegilla Migrant Reception and Training Centre opened in 1947 to accommodate and train Europeans who arrived during the post-WWII immigration boom. It housed over 300,000 displaced people arriving to start a new life in Australia. It is said that almost one in twenty Australians is a descendant of migrants from Bonegilla.
While Bonegilla represents different things to different people, it is universally recognised as a symbol of post-war migration, which transformed Australia’s economy, society and culture.
La Tierra (Spanish for earth) embraces the proud Mediterranean migrant ancestry and traditions of the region.
